Application And Orientation Fee $500

This nonrefundable fee is payable when you submit your you completed application.

Domestic Pre-Placement Study $2,200

The home study includes all necessary requirements of the New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department. Studies are valid for one year. After one year, a pre-placement study can be updated at a cost of $550 plus a biannual background check fee of $44 per adult.

Adoption Preparation Training $500

All Faiths Adoption Services requires families to complete 12 hours of adoption preparation training. Our comprehensive training plan helps prospective adoptive families learn about the issues surrounding adoption.

Program Fee $5,000

When your pre-placement study has been completed, you will be required to create an adoption profile that will be shown to clients in our Pregnancy Counseling program who have chosen to make an adoption plan. This fee provides ongoing support for waiting families and the matching process with birth parents.

Placement Fee $20,000

This fee supports all services related to the placement of an infant, including: time spent in the hospital, adoptive and birth family supports, preparation of court documents, time spent in court, and all required post placement visits up to 6 months. If finalization takes longer than 6 months, additional post placements visit charges will be incurred at a rate of $300 per visit.

Birth Parent/Child Expenses TBD

With the majority of adoptions, the birth mother’s medical costs are paid by insurance. Any expenses not covered by the birth mother’s insurance will be the responsibility of the adoptive family. In general, the child’s medical expenses will be covered by the adoptive family’s insurance in an infant adoption. Birth parents may be reimbursed for directly related pregnancy expenses. This is a strictly regulated and a highly scrutinized aspect of adoptions.

Legal Fees TBD

All Faiths Adoption Services provides a referral list of attorneys to both adoptive and birth families. All legal fees are the responsibility of adoptive families.

Travel Costs Mileage/Lodging/Per Diem

All Faiths Adoption Services reimburses its social workers for mileage at current state rates to travel to and from your home.  You will be billed for travel outside the Albuquerque area.  Lodging/Per Diem rates as appropriate as required by travel and per current state rates.

Other Adoption Costs Related to Out of State Placements

Interstate Compact Placement Fee (ICPC) $550

If an infant is placed in your home from outside the state of New Mexico, an interstate facilitation fee will be charged.  Interstate placements require cooperation between the agencies involved and the Interstate Compact for the Placement of Children Administrator in each state’s capital city.   

Post Placement Services $350/visit

After an infant is placed in your home, the state requires routine post placement visits. Your case worker will visit with you and your infant once a month until the adoption decree is finalized.
